Ermanco Unit Wins Fresh Direct Contract

Materials Handling & Fulfillment System for 280,000
Sq. Ft. Facility
EASTON, PA - May 12, 2001 - Paragon
Technologies, Inc. [AMEX:PTG], a leader in fully automated
and integrated materials handling and conveyor systems,
announced today that its Ermanco subsidiary has been awarded
a contract to provide an automated materials handling and
order fulfillment conveyor system to Fresh Direct's 280,000
square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing plant and distribution
facility, located in Long Island City, New York.
Fresh Direct furnishes grocery products and
prepared foods to customers in the New York City area based
on orders received electronically.
Ermanco, in conjunction with Fresh Direct's
personnel, is working closely to implement this automated
system. Jack Dixon, Vice President, Facility Logistics of
Fresh Direct, stated that they have put together an aggressive
schedule to get this facility up and running as soon as
possible.
